Fuizesc-class fighter

The Fuizesc-class was designed by Aethui Shipbuilding Corporation as a replacement for the Notai'p Republic's Quetax-class light interceptor, a highly maneuverable short-range defense fighter produced by Aethui's long time competitor in the nation's defense industry, Natahl Obad. A lack of funding for military and domestic law enforcement organizations, as well as a notably low GACIAF presence in the sparsely populated Seddi-Nothax Sector, resulted in increased piracy and other criminal activity away from class 1 and 2 FTL travel lanes. The Notai'p Republic's navy and central law enforcement agency, the Notai'siphi, sought to supplement their aging fleet of Quetax-class ships with a more capable light strike craft, with the long-term goal of completely replacing the existing stock of older vessels. Aethui bid a variant of their Fuithel Aen-45 interceptor, with the FTL drive system omitted and shields reduced in exchange for an expanded sublight drive system and improved maneuverability, allowing for better performance in the types of anti-piracy and law enforcement duties the new design was anticipated to perform. The Fuizesc was armed with two S44-003 light laser cannons manufactured by Kodaz Interplanetary, a subsidiary of Aethui which focused on combat systems and other related technologies. Although not particularly powerful compared to the typically weapon systems a ship of similar size would be equipped with, the S44-003 was accurate and linked to an excellent targeting computer, allowing for precise disabling shots to critical subsystems on a target vessel. This was a desired capability for the Notai'siphi, who preferred accuracy over damage as they were mostly dealing with modified commercial freighters and other civilian spacecraft operated by criminals.

Development of the Fuizesc took five years, concluding in the year 48,456 ACT. An initial order of 1,200 units was made by the Notai'p Republic Navy to provide additional security for remote outposts and logistical sites, while another 2,600 units were ordered by the Notai'siphi. The latter also planned for the purchase order to be expanded to 9,510 strike craft pending an increase in funding for law enforcement that was expected come the next Notai'p Chamber session. Aethui did have limited success in marketing the Fuizesc-class to other minor powers in the sector, mostly as a light fighter for police organizations and some private militias. The final units were delivered to the Notai'p government in the year 48,460 ACT, with Aethui shutting down production in the same year to focus on growing their presence in the civilian and commercial spacecraft markets.
