The Thystali-class was an advanced capital ship designed for GAONC, the naval component of the GACIAF Administration's armed forces, taking the place of the Xoctal-class. The class was capable of functioning in many roles, including combat in a frontline or supporting position depending on force composition, defending ships or stations against strike craft and missile attacks, and both atmospheric and surface operations. The Thystali-class was the first ship to be developed under the NACSD Program, starting in 48,821 ACT. Kualin Stardrives acted as a subcontractor in the initial design phase, creating a blank hull with core structural elements as a concept, with Datopala Industrial, the Aethui Shipbuilding Corporation, and Cyxtess Technologies brought into the project to assist with analysis and adjustments to this early development unit. The use of these companies in the development process, mandated by the CICDE and Oteuna Trade Union while the NACSD Program was still limited, led to significant delays in Syvatii Unlimited's schedule, with CEOSET and GACIAF's Department of Industry eventually successfully passing an additional set of legislation through the Ivesceel Central Chamber to increase the program's scope. The Thystali-class, however, would not see the effects of this effort, and the first development model on the path to a production model would not be complete until 48,841 ACT, almost 10 years after the intended date. Syvatii Unlimited then continued sole development of the Thystali-class for 14 years, with the first ship completed in 48,855 ACT. The Thystali-class' production run lasted for almost two hundred years, with the design proving versatile and capable in a range of roles, leading to Thystali-class frigates appearing in almost all of GACIAF's naval forces, from patrol groups as the flagship to sector fleets as a common escort.
