Hagia Irene
Hey guys, I'm back with another historical build. This time it's of the 4th Century Church Hagia Irene in Constantinople. While the original church was built under Emperor Constantine in the 4th Century, it was burned down in the 6th Century during the Nika Riots under Emperor Justinian. As a result, it was rebuilt by Emperor Justinian soon after the riots concluded. After the Fall of Constantinople in 1453, the Ottoman Empire converted the church into an Arsenal, it later became a military museum and is currently a historic site. Today the church has lost most of its former decorations, mosaics, and frescos and is largely bare stone.
