Description
Hall of the Underdark will be huge underground cavesystem. There will be no surface only 128 block deep rock base with vast caves, underground lakes, dungeon and many perils.
Main features
- Normal ore distribution (coal on top layers, diamonds on the bottom)
- Lava level (Y:11)
- Normal MC generated dungeons.
- Custom dungeons / strongholds
- Size atleast 2048x2048x128 (X,Z,Y)
Challenges and rules
Most likely there will be no challenge or rule set for this map, save for a possible treasure chest hunt. The challenge will be surviving in this dark and unforgiving world where normal everyday commodities, like wood or fresh food will scarce and hard to come by.
Progress
I have figured out how to make the bulk of the landscape with decent speed. Currently I am working on the first region (512x512x128) adding additional details like custom dungeons and treasures and uncommon vistas. After I have finished the first region (I use old region format to measure my progress, map will be Anvil) I have better understanding how long this will take to finish.
I will use quite a bit of time on the first region trying to optimize the custom dungeons and other unique and uncommon features. After I know for certain how I can do them in fast and realible way, I will move onto next regions.
Name of the map
Halls of the Underdark is a working title. It is quite general fantasy based title and it is directly taken from the Forgotten Realms. I'll try to come up with a better name for this world.
