Idyllic Cage Minecraft Map
Overview
The concept is loosely based around protecting and preserving the natural beauty of endangered coral reefs, and the aquatic life that inhabit them. In an ocean with ever spreading pollution, the Idyllic Cage is a safe-haven that separates reality from fantasy, preserving the inhabitants of these sacred waters from harm for eternity.
I focused on an elegant design that lets the shaping do most of the work opposed to layering detail. The terrain emphasizes strong, vivid, full colors, bringing the surroundings to life. I hope you enjoy!

Additional Build Info
This build was done for the Builders Refuge plot contest.
The majority of the build was finished within the last 36 hours of the contest, which led to some unfinished bits.
I used a clippaste brush for most of the coloring of the plot, overlaying with glass to give it a glowing effect. All objects were made by hand.
Did not have a strong concept going into this project, and was ultimately inspired by a previous project incorporating a similar 'cage style' build.

Fantastic build! I love the tall kelp plants, manta rays and the colorful bubbles! So many elements to enjoy it's hard to pick the best parts! I especially love the statue with the jar of pouring water! The splash is well done!
