The Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer is easily one of the most recognizable ships in Star Wars. At a staggering 1,600 meters in length, the Empire's Star Destroyers are almost always at the forefront of every major galactic conflict and are a powerful symbol of their naval might. They where armed to the teeth with sixty turbolaser batteries, sixty heavy ion cannon emplacements and ten tractor beam projectors. An Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer was capable of commanding an assault on an entire planet almost single-handedly. Fighters complement was 72, a mix of fighters, bombers or interceptors. With the fall of the Empire, the Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer was phased out of service and replaced with the much larger and deadlier Resurgent-Class Star Destroyer of the First Order.
