A build that was born on the intersection of my desire to study feudal Japan and play MC with friends. Initially, this castle was supposed to be built on a dedicated Kemono Friends MC server, hence the name of the castle "Homaretomo" (誉友城) which stands for "Honorable friends castle", but at some point, I decided it to be a standalone project, since constructing it in survival would prove to be a difficult task. A considerable amount of planning went into this build, including gathering references and reading dedicated books, as I was trying to keep it as accurate to the real thing as possible, where by "real thing" I mean the way actual castles were built in feudal Japan.



All structures interiors are fairly simple, as they were in real life, but I've done my best to make it look interesting and in a way unique. When designing windows and arrow/gun ports I was keeping functionality in mind, so both cover a fairly large area, meaning you can actually use this map for siege events or whatever you come up with! I also sticked to vanilla and completely avoided using any mods.



This stronghold features three levels in total, with a fortified gate for each one. The first level serves sort of as a buffer zone between the habitated area and the castle surroundings. The second level is where most of the people reside during peaceful times. It features a well, a small stable, a storage building, and lastly yashiki (mansion) where Daimyo would do all his business. The third level is where the keep and a nice zen garden is stationed, the last line of defence. Within the keep, there are 6 floors in total, with the bottom 3 serving as a residential area and the upper 3 serving purely defensive purposes, although I've also placed a small altar on the 4th floor. Please keep in mind that although Sengoku period keeps were heavily decorated, they remain mainly military structures, and thus space inside is noticeably cramped, so do watch your head when examining the structures.
