When the technology to turn back time was created, it was a secret among an elite few. It took many decades for the news to become public, but once it did, chaos erupted. The elite warned of the dangers, but the people felt betrayed, so the warnings fell of deaf ears. Many died trying to obtain the Timepiece, some for selfish reasons, others to help humanity.
When a mob of warriors reached the Timepiece, a fight broke out for who would claim it. A victor emerged... but something went wrong. Nobody truly could control time itself. The fallen combatants rose again, the victor too was reset back to the start of the battle. Now, in this chasm in time, the same warriors fight endless battles, unaware that their victories and losses are cycling endlessly. When another warrior wins, the glass with once again reset itself.
