Some history
The Juno 1 was the booster rocket that took American satellite, Explorer 1, into orbit around Earth. Launched in 1958 with Explorer 1 attached, it was America's response to Russia launching satellite Sputnik 1, the year before. It is, however, commonly mistook for Juno 2, America's ballistic missile booster rocket. Juno 1 and Explorer 1 have been replicated, and can be seen in the Kennedy Space Centre, Florida.
