The underwater survival map called "Kappa" and it's nether "Tartarus"
Kappa is an aquatic square shaped competitive survival map based loosely on hunger games and bed wars. Players are sorted into one of four teams with bases at the four corners of the map (more can be added). In the center of the map is a "colony" which acts as a neutral zone and shopping district for the players. There is also a small area under the colony called "the cistern" that acts as a black-market-esque area.
Ore generation has been turned WAY down so some materials, particularly diamonds, emeralds, and gold, are difficult to find.
The Colony acts as a hub for the players. Shops can be scattered around selling vital materials such as wood and food. I intended for the temple to have a shop that rotated frequently with hard to get and uniquely enchanted items. The squid area was intended to have a shop for decorative items such as banners and dyes. There are chests hidden in the tree top in the colony with goodies for players that can get to them and return without dying.
In the Cistern, players can buy the rarest items in the game (typically from the end because there isn't one for this world), sell junk, and exchange rare items for currency to be used in shops. The shop would be set up to rotate items periodically.
In the overworld there are a number of ocean monuments scattered around the ocean floor. These monuments have had their gold removed because it was used as a currency and made players too OP during play. Instead they had loot chests with valuable materials and enchanted items. Mob spawners were added to make the monuments more challenging.
I intended for the ocean monuments to be where I dropped the "goal items". These were a set of high-level uniquely enchanted armor and weapons. The enchantments on these were mainly utilitarian and meant to give the player using them a serious advantage in gameplay. The team that managed to gather all of the goal items by any means would be the winners of the game.
In the nether I intended to place an anti-set in heavily guarded nether fortresses (with extra mob spawners including ghast spawners) that was meant to be more aggressive. While it wasn't needed to win it could give players that managed to give them a serious advantage in combat.
"Biospheres" were created and are floating around halfway to the surface of the water. The current spheres contain giant mushrooms but can be refilled with trees since wood isn't readily available in the world.
There is a ship above the colony that can be used as a meeting place for the server owner or game master to make announcements, or minigames, or other events.
I suggest finding a plugin that can make enchanting more difficult or deny access to higher level enchants to increase the difficulty.
Each base has a sign that was meant to act as a warp point to the colony.
There are two shrines that can grant players temporary blessings (or curses) if they hit the button.
