Entry for DinowCookie's Mystery Title, Spring Edition - skin or build making game. I was given the prompt 'Kitchen Garden'.
Once a rich villa.. then a tourist villa... Now a cozy villa.
The kitchen garden occupies the remnants of a pool, the new family owners not needing a pool because, um who needs a pool? Fill it up with soil and plant some garlic in there. Fresh herbs straight from your pool.
The house, like many of us, is a hollow shell. I plan to make an interior eventually but the issue is it is extremely difficult! Try to fit all the necessities of modern living in a relatively small and diagonal building with large windows on one side preventing you from adding any dividing walls or anything is difficult. If you feel like you want a challenge or hate yourself, have a go and send me screenshots! I'd love to see what you do with it.

So.. It's been a year! What has changed?
Everything.
Well, almost everything. What hasn't changed is to be changed eventually.
The biggest change has to be the house. It was the thing I hated the most from the first version - probably the worst aspect of the whole build (and that is saying a lot considering the state of the 'garden'). For those new to the project please see the before and after below.
Gone is the rushed cuboid created from a faint idea of a Mediterranean house and in its place is a building that I can be proud of. As of right now, no interior is done but that is currently my priority as I want to finish the house and also I'm a bit stumped on the rest of the garden.
Speaking of which, the garden too has had a huge overhaul. Prior to this update, there was no garden but rather a farm. Due to being unfamiliar with kitchen gardens, my prompt for the event, I had overdone it. However I knew it was silly so after uploading I had torn the fields down and created an actual garden with integrated farmland. I was also not happy with that version either so elements were removed. I only deem this worthy to mention as what's left of the old garden can still be seen in the background of some of the screenshots and also be explored if one were to download the map.
The successor garden is the one that is currently available to you. I tried to blend tradition with renovation, using age as a way to tell a story. A small marble gazebo overlooks the ocean. Behind it, two trees. One has reached the end of it's healthy life and is now leaning heavily, ready to tip. The other, a swing dangles from for the adventurous child. Just by the house a filled in pool stands, now utilized as a kitchen garden.
