Let me just take a guess how you made it. Used Biosphere mod to generate a world, took 1 sphere....and thats it.

WorldEdit is okay, not as precise, and ends up causing me more headaches than functionality.

No i copied the piece of the map that i needed then i imported it into a blank canvas then used commands mod to create the sphere then from there on i built everything legit
