Lightning Strike (2020) is an original minigame I built using only vanilla Minecraft and many command blocks. Along with this original mini-game, this map includes Spleef, TNT Spleef, and a game called Mini-Strike, where you have to race to the right colored square before the floor falls beneath you.
Lightning Strike is a game about being the last one standing. You start on a large field of TNT, and that TNT is the only thing separating you from the void. There are four difficulties, all chosen randomly. The lightning strikes take different paths depending on what difficulty it is, and there will be more lightning strikes as well. The lightning strikes the floor, causing the TNT to catch fire and fall, all the while having the chance to spread it to nearby blocks. Because of the fire and the randomly chosen difficulty, the ending to this game is never the same! All of the random elements cause the floor to be a different shape each and every time, so there's no single safe spot. After the lightning is done, if people are still standing you receive snowballs and a knockback stick to get rid of the remaining players. The more people, the more fun and hectic this game gets! (Once you die you are teleported to the spectator area of the arena so you can watch the remaining players.)
Along with this game, there are three other mini-games to choose from. There's Spleef, which has the option to be played with or without hills, which can create more variation and different strategies. There's also TNT Spleef, which equips you with a flame bow that you have to use to shoot the TNT underneath your opponents to get them to fall down. Finally, there's Mini-Strike, a fun party game where the walls will light up a certain color, and you have to rush to that corner before the rest of the floor falls. The difficulty increases over time, and at difficulty levels 3 and 4 you get a slowness effect. It's a lot of fun with a big group!
The 2020 version of the Lightning Strike map is much more completed and is a lot more of a finished product. The 2019 version's Lightning Strike was unplayable most of the time, and all of the issues have been fixed since then.
If you enjoy the map, let me know! I've worked really hard to make this idea a reality, and it's paid off. If you have any suggestions or criticisms, please let me know by commenting on this project. Thank you!
