3.5 Billion years ago both Mars and Earth looked very similar...


     Only they were in two very different parts of thier lifes. Earth has begun to form oceans and life beging to form on the surface. mars was forming life as well, but had already formed its oceans... In fact its oceans have already started to dry out.
     
     You been sent on a mission to mars in the year 2041, you stumbled across a weird device burried in the dust. You reported the discovery to NASA, and they warned you to not touch the strange device, but you were so excited about the possible new Martian device that you just had to press the blue button mounted on the side. In that split second you had lost communication with Houston, and there liquid water on the surface of the planet. as you explored the strange new changes in the land, you soon realized that the ancient water lines from the oceans from about 3.8 billion years ago were not near the current waterline of the new oceans, You realized that the Oceans were not new.... but were about 3.5 billion years ago! You remebered in your Science class in 10th grade that in this state in time Mars's oceans were just about dried up! Meaning that there was little life on the planet, mostly plants and small trees. 
     You would have to somehow survive on a planet with little resources and Oxygen.


I have put together a small change to a texturepack that is not required but adds to the feeling of being on Mars.
It is an edited version of Faithful 32x32 texturepack, where the only thing I have changed is adding clouds to the pack.

The map has very little coal, wich is fossil fuel made of dead plants and animals. Being that Mars has almost no life there would be very little coal.  Although there is water on the planet meaning there would be few plants and trees to live off of. 
I hope you come up with creative ways of playing on this map. Have fun!
