What is a supervillain without a lair?
A homeless person with a burgeoning intellect and a predisposition towards harm.

The records of the Minecraftia Lighthouse Board will tell you that Mephistopheles Point is a stone tower with attached keeper's cottage, exhibiting a yellow flash twice every seven seconds at roughly a million candlepower, with two subsidiary lights that exhibit a yellow light once every seven seconds also. Aforementioned records will also state that the lighthouse has been automated for twenty years.
Well...
Part of that is true.
Both halves of Doctor Stonegarden's personality have harboured a desire to live a quiet life in a lighthouse.
So far, only Dark Doc has achieved this particular dream.
Armed with the power of TV Tropes, it's the good bad doctor's reasoning that by keeping his lair as un-evil as possible, it's far less likely that anyone will actually come to kill him or whatever noble guff heroes like to do these days.
Ergo, Mephistopheles Point is a chic, modern retreat, without a disinfectant-desperate torture chamber or obsequious minion in sight.
Well, there is that trap in the basement, and the ancient nether temple that may or may not have made the whole structure itself evil, but that is of no consequence.

About Dark Doc':
Ah, well. What can I say?
Having been forced to read Jekyll and Hyde in my English class, I really should have thought out the potential ramifications of attempting to separate myself into two distinct good and evil parts via suspect chemical processes.
Thus, Doctor Stonegarden, in all his trenchcoated glory, was dethroned from supremacy in his mind by his own folly, and in his place came Dark Doc', or so I call him.
He prefers Xenophilius, but I threatened to hang us both him if he introduces himself as such.
'I' right now is the good doctor, but it is only a matter of time before he assumes control of my mind, and my wardrobe; that lovely red winter coat that was a Christmas present from my father is now a monogrammed testament to his own terrible vanity.
It looks good, though. Evil me has style. Even if I think he could do with some purple in his attire.
What makes him evil, Planet Minecraft?
Well, the simple answer is, he isn't evil. Much.
Merely... less moral.
I remain firmly in the centre of the Moral Alignment Chart, cosy in my True Neutral perch. I like to maintain some degree of morality for the sake of my friends and society.
And he... well, he's True Neutral as well.
Only, where I am content to sit back and watch the world fly by, he uses my hard-earned Troping skills for personal gain. How can you catch a man who knows how a narrative works?
Well, he's selfish more than anything, really. Although he does have a lava trap in the basement of his lair. Which is actually a rather chic converted lighthouse on a tropical island.
It's his reasoning that if he doesn't draw attention to himself - hence the absence of evilness in his lair - no do-gooders will come to hack him to bits, and he's quite right. It's all in the Evil Overlord List on TV Tropes.
Look it up. You might learn something.
If anything, it may give you some countermeasures to Dark Doc's Genre-Savvy brand of evil.
Just, for the love of god, don't say you'll never join him, because he'll kill you on the spot.
Anyway-
Oh god. He's coming.
Run.

(This and the skin linked above are for edgedonkey's Evil Villain contest. All of this work is entirely my own. I promise. With a cherry on top.)

Additional Notes

Thanks to wekabear and mrsparkle137 for being willing lambs to the slaughter and for the (soon to be added) video.
The two of you are wonderful examples of humanity.
