Minas Tirith ( /ËmɪnÉs Ëtɪrɪθ/; Sindarin: /Ëminas Ëtiriθ/), originally named Minas Anor, is a fictional city and castle in J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth writings. It became the heavily fortified capital of Gondor in the second half of the Third Age. It was originally built to guard the former capital, Osgiliath, from attack from the west, but became the capital when Osgiliath fell into ruin following the Kin-strife and the Great Plague. It is often referred to as the White City and the City of Kings. The Rohirrim sometimes translated this into their own language as "the Mundburg". In the climax of The Lord of the Rings the city comes under a very large and determined attack by the allied forces of Mordor.
Yes! I am doing one of the largest cities in the entire Middle Earth!

Yes, I am using WorldEdit. I like to create what imagine and use any tools available to create them. However, this does not diminish my building skills, just like having a life and MC. =]

Update #3 : by bobsajit 04/13/2011 1:11:10 amApr 13th, 2011
Created a blog post to maybe get some help:
http://www.planetminecraft.com/blog/middle-earth/
In other news. I redid the mountain around it to be more green and brown and less stone. I, as planned, upgraded the front walls a LOT! Haven't had time to plan out some houses yet. Hill around the area really help break the flat horizon line which added to the feel of the area.
planned updates: Smaller main roads, and making the inside walls have those awesome looking towers on them. I still need to make the way the road ends up at the top. Don't quite like the way it looks now, and the buildings up there will need to be smashed in -.-
