Steve has decided he's done with Earth and has fled to Mars. Ayy lmao.
Steve's Mine Base One is a fully sustainable Mars-based city that can support several humans forever. The Biodome grows plenty of food, from grain to carrots to beetroots for stew. Solar Panels on the side allow for an unlimited supply of electricity to power the O2 scrubbers found on the side of the Biodome and power the contact array that can communicate with the seemingly unlimited size of the old Earth he left.
The buggy in the garage lets Steve maintain the outdoor equipment and get a breath of fresh air, so to speak. The atmosphere of Mars is mostly CO2, and the scrubbers can extract the carbon from the hostile air and turn it into the white building materials most of the base is constructed on. Any residual CO2 inside the base is naturally turned to Oxygen using the Biodome's crops with the science of photosynthesis. As the crops are not hybrid, they produce more than enough seeds to keep the plants going for generations. Steve has no choice but to remain on Mars, since he had to disassemble the rocket he took there to construct the base.
