Minecraft Experiment: Recreating a Village
Some time ago, I read on the Minecraft Wiki that it is posible to recreate a village in-game. I found this very interesting, yet hard to believe. Of course, I had determination to test this statement out!
(If you haven't already, this is the part where you watch the video ;) )
Some Facts:
- The total time to build the village was 30 minutes
- In less then 2 hours, there were 7 villagers living in the village
- In about 3 hours, there were 12 villagers living in the village
- An Iron Golem did not spawn
Conclusion:
Recreating the village was a success. If you are going to do this yourself, it will take a while. For really good results, I would follow the steps on the Minecraft Wiki.
Installing:
1.) Extract the Village.zip file.
2.) If you are on a Mac: Click the Finder icon. Go to Library, Application Support, minecraft, saves.
If you are on Windows: Click the Start icon (bottom left), type %appdata% , open .minecraft (if a folder named Roaming pops up, click that, and .minecraft should be in it), open saves.
3.) Drag the extracted file (should be a folder named village) into the saves folder.
