This is an INSTANT MAZE GENERATOR in Minecraft 1.12 which uses the new functions.
Actually, this project contains 2 different generators, one of them is more advanced and can use a great variety of blocks, but with the other you can see the generation process which is -in my opinion- spectacular.

Usage:
/function Maze1:on - /function Maze1:off
/function Maze2:make11/21/31/41/51/61/71/81/91

Interesting, but I think your function is not really optimizing very much, I have made a single command (the command is old, so there are not yetfunction) composed with 40 commands, less option Its present, but the generation is simpler.
