What is Moria?
Khazad-dûm was once the greatest dwarven realm and city of Middle-earth. According to Gimli the Dwarf it was 'full of light and splendor'. The dwarves of Moria had friendship with the Elves of Eregion who lived close to the western gate and benefited much from that friendship. They also found iron, gold and jewels in their mines and the most valuable Moria-silver (better known as mithril), which was found nowhere else in all of Middle-earth.
But the dwarves delved too greedily and too deep and they disturbed Durin's Bane, a Balrog who hid in Khazad-dûm after the Fall of Morgoth at the end of the First Age of Middle-earth. The dwarfs fled and Khazad-dûm became Moria, the black pit. Orcs occupied and plundered it for a thousand years and most of it's former beauty is ruined.
How can I help building Moria?
The Moria project is going on at the Minecraft Middle-earth server since 2015 and it is one of our biggest projects. Help is always welcome, so feel free to join the server and take a look around if you'd like to do so. When started by a foreman you can contribute to this project through jobs, in which you'll do simple tasks such as ruining buildings or making paths together with many other people. Once you're comfortable with our resource pack and build style you can even try applying for builder, after which you'll be allowed to start much bigger projects, such as halls or tombs.
How can I see Moria for myself?
Moria is available to look at on the Minecraft Middle Earth. Once on the server you can get there by doing /warp moria west gate, and then typing the password Gandalf said in the books and movies in chat to enter. Do note however that this project is still very much a work in progress, and you are likely to see some unfinished parts.

How can I join tours?
First, type /tour in chat to know if there’s a tour going on. If there isn’t, you can ask one of the online Guides for a tour, but if they’re busy or tired, leave them be. If there’s a tour happening, type /tour join [name of the Guide running the tour] to join, and connect to TeamSpeak.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
