The former World Trade Center's south tower for PlayStation®3 Edition!

WTC Tower | PlayStation®3 Edition [EU DISC] Minecraft Map Overview

This download includes the schematic of the former World Trade Center's south tower, originally from a Java Edition New York City recreation, pasted into an otherwise default superflat world. The interior is fully adorned with furniture and various other room equipments. Mirroring the past real-world building, a lobby is located at the foot of the tower. All following floors up to just below the deck are identical in appearance. Overall, the building consists of 32 floors if counting the lobby as two separate floors and excluding the empty, inaccessible floor beneath the platform. Vertical shafts in the building's center connect most floors, representing the tower's actual elevators.

Nevertheless, a handful of elements from the original schematic are missing:
  • Banners denoting countries' flags within the lobby have been removed.
  • Redstone wiring has been removed.
  • The elevators and ability to switch off lights have been rendered non-functional as a result.
This has been done to increase the performance of the map. However, isn't this a bit of an odd submission?

The motive behind this map
This map existed on PlanetMinecraft before, uploaded by another user. It wasn't the exact same map, but the concept was identical. I downloaded it so I could play it on my PlayStation®3. Me and a long-time friend began utilizing the map for roleplays (without knowing the context behind the depicted building), and we eventually found a new hobby, creating an entire narrative universe that still holds strong to this very day. It's the reason I got so invested in story telling and now strive to craft my own narrative works. I developed an attachment to this map and it remains a significant part of my friendship with the aformentioned individual. So, I recreated this map for old time's sake. This submission is really more of a personal thing, but if it was able to bring me joy, it may bring it to you, too.

WTC Tower | PlayStation®3 Edition [EU DISC] Minecraft Map Installation

Step 1: Determine world folder
To determine the world folder, look for the one titled:BLES01976--<sequence of numbers>The regional serial number BLES01976 needs to match that of the Minecraft copy you own. Otherwise, the game will not recognize the save data.

Additionally, you may check whether the folder contains the world files (e.g. GAMEDATA, ICON0.PNG) to ensure that it really is the world folder.

Step 2: Move world folder to USB drive
Fetch your USB drive and plug it into your computer. Confirm that it is formatted to FAT32, as it is required for external drives to properly interact with the console. You can do so by right-clicking the displayed USB drive in an Explorer window and selecting Properties.

Create the undernoted path on your USB drive:
PS3/SAVEDATA/Subsequently, store your downloaded world folder under that path.

Step 3: Transfer save data to PlayStation®3
Attach the USB drive to your PlayStation®3. When it's turned on, navigate to Save Data Utility under Game in the XMB screen. There, your USB drive will be displayed as part of your list of save data. Press X on the displayed USB drive and search for your downloaded map in the subsequent list. Open its options through pressing and select Copy. After the transfer is completed, the world is prepared for playability.
