As technology advanced and carrier-borne aircraft grew more prevalent, military contractors had to get more creative to keep gunships relevant. One such example is the Myrmidon-class Heavy Cruiser. CloudGate Systems' main goal here was raw firepower. 20 1m broadside guns line the Myrmidon-class, which is already excessive by heavy cruiser standards. The cruiser's real party piece, though, is the 3m main gun that runs through the length of the ship. The six rotating ammunition chambers technically make this gun a giant revolver. The incredible range and accuracy of the Myrmidon-class, as well as its brutal close-range firepower proved that gunships were not outdated yet.

I built this ship over the course of a weekend for a communications project, where I had to make a how-to presentation (how to make a good Minecraft build). Given my lack of productivity in my Minecraft exploits, it was nice to have a serious reason to build something. As for the build itself, I've always wanted to build an airship with a giant revolver running through the hull, and now I have. The interior is completely unfinished (given the time constraint), and I have no intention of finishing it.

It is geared towards someone who might not know what Minecraft is, but it provides insight into how I go about building ships. I hope it can be helpful!
