The Feral-Class gunship is a small, short-range vessel designed to accompany larger battle groups and provide maneuverable ship-to-ship fire for the North American Union during the colonization wars nearly two centuries ago.
Only three decks tall, the gunship provides a low profile when turning the main turrets towards target vessels. Small anti-fighter turrets located on the dorsal and ventral sides of the ship are positioned to defend the broad side of the ship from small fighter craft while firing on larger vessels. The ship is also equipped with a pair of fixed angle plasma cannons designed to disrupt the shields of enemy ships, increasing the effectiveness of the heavy ammunition.
Built to house a crew of 12 (working in two shifts of 6), the Feral-Class was outfitted with minimal life support recycling, depending on regular resupply from the large battleships or support vessels in the battle group in order to run long term missions. In place of typical key systems, The middle half of the ships length is devoted to munitions bays containing high-density slugs to feed into the rail gun cannons and turrets.
Crew: 12 (2 command officers, 6 gunnery officers, 4 engineers)
Propulsion/Power: 6 high-aspect neutrino engines, 1 solar core fusion reactor, 1 5c capable hyperdrive
Range: 6 month fuel, 5 days life-support (non-recycled)
Compliment: 6 100 ton-eqiv dual-rail cannons, 4 1 ton-eqiv quad-rail turrets, 2 shield disruptor plasma cannons
This gunship goes along with the Triumph-Class Battlecruiser as a North American Navy combat vessel
