no, it makes the light level 0 so the crops fly off. the button sends a block update while the lights are off so that the crops know to pop off. thanks for diamond :)

a bit. When wheat is at light level 0 and then recieve an update, it pops out of the ground.

The button. It changes what it looks like when you press it, sending a block update. The wheat popping out sends an update to the wheat touching it, popping that one out. This goes on until they are all popped off. The button also turns off the lights and closes the door so no light can come in
