Hi everyone !
A friend of mine, named Morgan9195 (administrator of a server (http://serveur234x24studio.jeuxvideoforum.com/) for more than a year, programmer (C++, GML), and huge fan of abstract redstone circuits) showed me a very...complicated but impressing project that he's working on : a programmable computer in Minecraft using...a lot of redstone.
But this is not any "casual" computer that you can find by searching a bit on the web. It's a REAL programmable computer, you can change the code on a screen made of pistons. He hasn't finished to build it yet, for exemple, the screen isn't even connected to the processor.
This colossal project actually is a way for him to put his Redstone skills to a test. Moreover, in order to develop it, he read many binary systems tutorials, and he even drew a map of the circuits manually, on a sheet of paper (I saw him doing that during our free time at school......pretty funny I must say). Now, he knows exactly how to build a computer, how it works, and he's ready to BLOW YOUR MIND !
Here is the general structure, from the dynamic map of his server : http://77.111.242.26:8124/?worldnam...1060.9251354889818&y=64&z=-142.57060609052218
Of course, it'll be a while until it's 100 % complete, but here is his progress :
Keyboard : 100 % Screen : 40 % Processor : 35% Main memory : 25% Hard disk : 25 % Mouse : 20 %
For now, he's building it on his server, but he's planning to make it into a solo map, so that people can try it. So, if you want to see it now, just join his server : (http://serveur234x24studio.jeuxvideoforum.com/) or just have a look at the screenhots !
Give me your feedback so I know what you think of his project !
Here is a website he made for the server : http://234x24studio.wix.com/minecraft
