Hey Minecrafters!

I am here once again with some redstone device! This one is going to be some RAM (Random Access Memory) for my computer I am working on. One of my friends gave me a really basic and quick tutorial (He just drew on a piece of paper) on how to make RAM. So I will be adding a map once it gets bigger and more complicated!

Added the Map!

Update #1 : by Storm_Inc 10/11/2012 4:54:32 pmOctober 11, 2012 @ 8:54 pm UTC

Made it so it has 4 inputs and outpouts.
Also connected it to a Binary Decoder for abit of extra fun

  Have something to say?

I have been redstoning since about a week after redstone circuitry was implemented (took me a week until I started experimenting with it), I have three worlds full of redstone devices and stuff, have created 7 minigames that I haven't uploaded yet, and I still cannot create a computer and know only two latches (RS NOR and AND latch).

I'm a smart idiot.

Computers are as complicated as you let them be. The concept and most basic make-up is really simple to understand. But the concept can be expanded upon and become truly complex, like modern computers.

If you understand latches, you understand RAM. People generally use D flip flops for RAM, which is usually just a modified RS NOR latch with an enable function. The mechanism used for RAM in this design is a bit more... well... interesting. xD It uses two piston-based memory latches with pistons for the enable function.

You sound amazing! I will check out your projects A.S.A.P.! And don't worry computers are easy. You only need a small amount of knowledge and just learn it piece by piece! One at a time is teh best and just remake it a million times!

I'm currently working on a minigame, and once I finish this one I am thinking of uploading my other 7, This one, however, is being made on the new snapshot so command blocks are available, so if you want to see it you must download the snapshot first :P
