As promised, these are my River-class offshore patrol vessels, batch 1 and 2. I've included them together because they're the same class of ship, with the second being a significant improvement over the first. However, in terms of design, these ships are very different from each other. These are the first ships to feature a bulbous bow in my collection (and my first attempt at designing one), while the second ship also features a large flight deck, as well as a totally redesigned superstructure. It generally looks much more modern than the first ship and is far more capable in its role. These are our largest patrol vessels and serve as part of our coastal defence.

I really enjoyed building these vessels. They were surprisingly uncomplicated to build, and I love the way they look. They were satisfyingly simple in their layout (for the most part), which made these two ships easier to build than the Sandown-class from the other day, which surprised me at the time. I hope you like these as much as I do.

As for their armament, for the batch 1 ships, it's as follows:

1 x 20mm/85 Oerlikon KAA Autocannon In A GAM-BO1 Mount [1 x 1]
2 x 7.62mm FN MAG General-Purpose Machine Guns [2 x 1]

The batch 2 ships, by comparison, are as follows:

1 x 30mm/75 Oerlikon DS30M Mark II Autocannon [1 x 1]
2 x 7.62mm M134 Miniguns [2 x 1]
2 x 7.62mm FN MAG General-Purpose Machine Guns [2 x 1]

In addition, of course, the batch 2 ships have a flight deck to operate one maritime helicopter, unlike the batch 1's. As always, please give it a like and post a comment with your thoughts, I'd love to hear what you guys think. Coming up tomorrow will be another submarine, the Astute-class this time so you can look forward to that.

I will speak again soon,
