Hi everyone!
I've been unwell for a week so unfortunately not much progress has been made on new builds. I still have a few builds to share with you, but there might be a longer gap between uploads for a while.
To mix things up, I will be building a few different lines of ships at a time; American destroyers, Swedish destroyers and Dutch cruisers. After I've built a few of each, I will move on to the next group, which makes it more fun. So, expect to see a lot of ships from these three countries over the coming weeks and months. Today, I've got the Romulus-class destroyer of Sweden. These were ex-Italian Spica-class Torpedo Boats, purchased by Sweden in 1940. They were popular and regarded as highly successful ships to such a degree that Sweden made her native-built modified versions of these ships called the Mode-class.
A very small ship, this was quite a fun build. More modern than the early US destroyers, I like the style of these ships, of all the Swedish destroyers. Their dimensions and armament are as follows:
80 Blocks Long (doesn't include extremities)
9 Blocks Wide
3 Blocks Draught
Primary Armament: 3 x 100mm/47 OTO Model 1931 Guns [3 x 1]
Anti-Aircraft Armament: 6 x 20mm/65 Breda Model 1935 Guns [3 x 2], 2 x 13.2mm/75.7 Breda Model 1931 Heavy Machine Guns [1 x 2]
Torpedo Armament: 4 x 450mm W200/450 x 5.25 Torpedoes [2 x 2] (the exact torp model is hard to identify so this is a guesstimate)
Note that while I used the World of Warships model to help design her, the World of Warships model has some errors, deliberate I believe on Wargaming's part in an attempt to make this ship work as a Tier III destroyer (it's Tier II material let's be honest). So, in-game it has a quadruple torpedo launcher instead of one of the twins and it has a gun upgrade for the 100mm guns, to replace them with 120mm. Neither of these is correct for these ships.
There you go! I hope you guys like this one, thanks as always for all your diamonds, favourites and subscriptions, I greatly appreciate it :)
I'll see you on the next one!
