Greeting,
today I want to show you my reconstruction of the small prussian yacht "Royal Louise" which was built in 1832.
Notice: If you want to use the Royal Louise for one of your own projects please aske me via dm.
Special thanks to:
Safty for the renders
History:
The Royal Louise was ordered in 1831 by the british King William IV as a present for the King of Prussia. She was named after the late Queen Luise of Prussia which had died in 1810. on the 22nd of June 1832, she was formally handed over by Lord Adolphus FitzClarence. Between 1832 and 1914 the yacht was operated on the Havel and the Jungernsee until she was stored for the duration of the first world war. She remained as property of the Hohenzollern family until she was gifted to an local association by the former Wilhelm II in 1921. After her rigging was destroyed by a fire in 1924 the association gifted the Hulk of the Royal Louise to a stately eductional establishment. In 1932 she was brought to Kiel to be restored, after which she was placed on land as a monument. After the second world war she was demolished for firewood. Today only the figurehead and the salute guns remaining from the original. From 1996 to 1998 a replica of the former royal yacht was built on the yacht shipyard Berlin based in Berlin-Köpenick and today sails on the Lakes around Berlin.
