Santa Ana
The Santa Ana was a 112-gun Spanish ship of the line launched on September 28, 1718 in the Reales Astilleros de Esteiro; built with plans by Romero Landa. It would be the first of a series of three-decker ships called ''Los Meregildos'' or Santa Ana Class, constituted by the ships Mejicano, Conde de Regla, Salvador del Mundo, Real Carlos, San Hermenegildo, Reina María Luisa and Príncipe de Asturias, being the nerve of the Royal Spanish Navy.
Between 1803 and 1804 it would be captained by Captain Alcalá Galiano and in the Battle of Trafalgar with 126 guns, it was commanded by Captain José de Gardoqui, with the insignia of Lieutenant General of the Navy Ignacio María de Álava, in which it suffered 97 dead and 141 wounded, being rescued by the ship Rayo.
In 1808, as soon as the Spanish War of Independence began, she could not participate in the combat and capture of Admiral Rosily's French squadron, as she was in the Arsenal undergoing repairs and careening.
In 1810 she was moved to Havana together with the Prince of Asturias to be safer during the war against the French, in whose arsenal she went down in 1816 due to lack of careening, due to the collateral and undesirable effects of the War of Independence itself.
In 1834 she could still be seen together with the Príncipe de Asturias, also wrecked, sunk in the mud in front of the arsenal.
