Oh my god! I did something like this in one of my old worlds, great huge tentacles coming out of the water. I'm so happy that someone else is as twisted as me!

you totally need to do Cthulhu... (if you haven't heard of the Elder Gods, go read a bunch of awesome Victorian era horror by Phillip Lovecraft!)

... then you can build the Lost City of R'lyeh rising from the sea.......
