Simple piston gate

Hello, I just recently tried to make a piston gate, and Im not the best with red stone >:3, but I figured how to keep the mobs out of my castle with this simple design.
This is just beta if you guys leave me some suggestions, or comments I will consider it thank you!!!

The design goes:

A line of sticky pistons, for every piston there's a fence place on top of it. Under ground red stone leads to the control lever in other room. When the lever is pressed the red stone is activated, and the gate will go up , or down.
