There are three biomes, Desert, Plains, and River, along with caves and a Zombie dungeon. The villager will trade with you as long as you don't push him off the chunk. Treat the tree with MUCH respect, as it is you're ONLY source of wood. Good luck!
EDIT: Sorry, folks! I forgot to set the game mode to Survival before I saved it. For those lucky four who downloaded it before I fixed the problem... well... you're lucky! For all you others, sorry! You'll have to live with Survival! (unless, like me, you enjoy taking the fun out of Minecraft by using outside programs or mods to set game modes to whatever it is you want! ;) )
