''The Saint-John's Church (Sint-Janskerk), also locally referred to as the Saint-John (Sint-Jan) is a church standing in the city of Waalwijk in the Netherlands, my home town. The church was built in between 1923 and 1925 in a Neo-Byzantine style and is the largest standing Neo-Byzantine church in the Netherlands.
Unlike the Saint-John's Cathedral in 's-Hertogenbosch, which was dedicated to Saint John the Evangelist, the Saint-John's Church in Waalwijk was instead dedicated to Saint John the Baptist.
One of the many unique things of the church are the 16 domes made out of copper. Due to the oxidizing copper, 12 of the domes obtained a turqoise colour, giving the church it's unique look.
Nowadays the church is both a national monument, as well as an open museum, outside of church services.''
