For all of you who enjoyed my original Air Temple so much, I regret to inform you that due to a small "World Painter incident...." my air temple exists no more. Not the happiest of moments.
But, things happen for a reason. So I'm beginning anew and have started creating another Air Temple. The Sky Temple.
When I've decided on a location, I like to layout an outline of the buildings. I look at the spacing and placement of the structures. Then I build the frames; deciding the overall outline and composition of the citadel as I'm going. Asymmetry is the key. Symmetry in a composition is poisonously mediocre. Asymmetry keeps the eye moving around.
You will notice on each of the temple frames I line the floor level with glow stones. These will then be clad with stairs. Stairs allow light through them. This will add luminosity at night and subtle highlights during the day or when in shadow.
I've used acacia trees planted one on top of the other; giving the illusion of Japanese mountain pines.

Update #2 : by billoxiiboy 04/28/2018 8:48:58 pmApr 28th, 2018
Sky Temple is a project that I will probably be working on forever! I still have not finished any interiors yet. I have added a few more temples and planted a beautiful forest around the temples. I used the wisdom shader to take the latest screenshots.
Download will be available very soon. However it is an enormous map 195mb. The world is a minecraft generated endless world. Why file is so big :(

I hadn't heard of World Edit at this time.
Currently, I'm in the middle of making a new map called Island Beneath the Mists. It's an enormous map with a huge amount of custom trees and objects. Even when compressed, it is 115Mb.
I've had to rebuild it Twice; Thanks to Worldpainter .......@}£# &%$#!!!!!!!
W/painter has real troubles the larger your map gets. One little error message during merging; and you can find all the read only surfaces/items have been permanently errased!!! It doesn't matter that you can see everything on the W/p map still....apparently that's a mirage! When I went to back ups...they were all the same. I still don't know what happened. It was so unexpected :(
I've now started to make my own back ups of each map before I do any...Any changes!!!!

Yikes! Sounds like fun (not). I'm just struggling to figure out to make sure I'm using the tool/paint mode I think I am using, haven't merged anything customed made before. Anyway, good luck with your projects!
And you have make a big update!More towers and your build is much better as the old one, i love it too!
