Update 2... Changed the biome of one of the islands to a snow biome...
Tip 1...
.
Fully automatic cobblestone generator.
.
I noticed that people are having trouble with the boredom of cobblestone mining, I never do, as I have fully automated it, without using mods, and have been using it for months. Using only a standard cobblestone generator, although it works for other generators with a bit of forward thinking...
.
WARNING... this technique will kill you and seriously mess up your base if you mess around, so no horseplay, or pay the price...
.
Do not use efficiency enchanted pickaxes, as they're too powerful. ( Unless using Obsidian instead of Wood, under block to be mined. )
.
Stow away your armour, just in case.
.
This will produce a full chest of cobblestone with little or no input off yourself, but do not AFK and keep the volume turned up, so you can hear problems.
.
You also need to empty your inventory, as well as stowing your chests, crops and animals, well away from the cobblestone generator. That includes underneath, I am talking from experience...
.
1. Put wood block under the cobblestone block to mine.
2.Equip either a Diamond pickaxe, or Iron pickaxe ( fully automatic ).
or
Fill your hotbar with Stone pickaxes ( Semi - automatic )
3. Change your Attack / Destroy mouse button to Numeric pad button 0 ( or any other unassigned button near the edge of the keyboard )
4. Line up your cursor with the wooden block below the Cobblestone block to be mined.
5. Put object on Numeric Keypad button 0 to press it down, or whatever key you have assigned as attack / destroy.
6. Watch as your inventory fills up with cobblestone.
7. If using Stone pickaxes, scroll to next pickaxe using mouse scroll button when it breaks. ( be extremely careful doing this, as you can accidently mine the block below your feet, and fall to your death. ( I did this in my early days... )
--UPDATE-- Just change pickaxes with the number keys...
.
You can also not bother with changing the buttons, and just hold down the left mouse button. With the wood under the cobblestone block, the pickaxe wont go through...

Youtube Playthrough...
Minecraft: Epic SkyBlock 2.0 Survival
The old, original Play-Through. Un-Modded, running on Minecraft v1.7.2.
Sadly... they didn't explore the Nether, and the stuff I'd did there.

2 Update Logs
Update #2 : by Krazyman999 08/15/2014 9:19:58 pmAug 15th, 2014
Added a snow biome to one of the small islands, using MC Edit.
I origionally wanted this island as a snow biome, but didn't have the know how.
This will fix the problem of not being able to get snow...

Map is the same as the original 1.7.2, currently playing it, and really enjoying it.
In CurseForge search for Skyblock 1 by Krazyman999 and it will bring it straight up...
.
But your link is in the comments...

CLICK ON THE LINK ABOVE TO SEE MINECRAFT FINEST'S PLAYTHROUGH, WITH THEIR CRAZY ANTICS AND SUICIDAL PARKOUR PLAY-STYLE...
.
I've watched all of the videos you've posted on my skyblock, they're really entertaining. Can't wait for your next episode, or your eventual trip to the Nether to take on the Nether Fortresses, it should be entertaining...
.
The first Fortress is pretty easy to get to, with lots of help. The second Fortress is very tough to get to, with not a lot of help, but with tons of loot...
.
You can then concentrate on building up your Xp, to upgrade your tools, weapons and armour...
.
UPDATE... the keep inventory command stays on after you put it in, the handbook says it doesn't stay on always, I was wrong...
