This is mine and my friend's first server spawn build. It was mostly a test to see what we could do our first go around but nonetheless here it is. Its a terraformed forest-like environment with 4 nether portals for multiverse traveling, 3 caves for rules, etc, and a house for a shop, etc.

My only sugjestion would be to add some custom PROP trees. or perhaps a few more homes on the hills
using the new 1.8 wood colors like acia wood to add more color
Instead of using normal payne glass, use the colored glass for more eye popping appel.
and perhaps place more 1.8 flowers around liek the tulips and stuff. Looks really good overall though.
just needs a littel detail work done to it :)
And I would but I haven't updated to 1.8 yet.
You know thats its very easy to switch back and forth between old versions and the current with the launcher.
What version are you currenly using?
May i ask why you havent.. or dont prefer to play on 1.8.7 yet?

there is a MAJOR FLAW with 1.8.3-1.8.6 that allows hacked clients to place signs with more information on them than actaully allowed. It dosnt crash the server. But, it overloads any players client launcher who get near that chunk.
there a pain to get rid of. IT happened on my server. I ended up banning 4 players who i discovered had done it.
world edit just recently updated to 1.8.X versions. Im using there 1.8 BETA build with no issues.
i recommend moving to SPIGOT. as the bukkit project as shut down(you probably know that though)
Canary is also pretty decent as it comes with BUILT in essentials commands and other cool features. Though, i dont think you can use plugins with it.?. Its been awhile since i've gone to there webstie so i'll have to double check. that.
