Durch den Bau modernerer Transatlantikliner wurde die Mesopotamia ab 1925 zunehmend unprofitabel auf dem Transatlantikdienst also wurde sie zu einem reiner Kreutzfahrtschiff 1. Klasse umgebaut und ab 1926 wieder in Dienst gestellt. Bis 1930 machte sie mehrere gut gebuchte Kreutzfahrten und sogar 2 Weltreisen doch mit der grossen Depression sank die Passagierzahl bis sie 1931 ausserdienst gestellt wurde und 1932 zur Verschrottung verkauft wurde.

History English:
Due to the construction of more modern transatlantic liners, the Mesopotamia became increasingly unprofitable on the transatlantic service from 1925 onwards, so she was converted into a pure 1st class cruise ship and put back in service from 1926. Until 1930, she made several well-booked cruises and even two world voyages, but with the great depression, the number of passengers fell until she was taken out of service in 1931 and sold for scrap in 1932.
