New version HD detailledFINALLY RELEASED
(final HD release with new download and texturepack!)
discover the basilica of Saint Peter in Roma as you never saw it (download is yet the old version)

to see HD photos album
For outside and inside pictures of Minecraft St Peter Basilica in Roma and museums click HERE

First standard version of world map
click here to download old map version (standard textpack)

Click to reveal
Release with special texturepack to enjoy a lot of new things. There are many historical objects to increaserealism in museum part of the map. You will access a new high standard level in furnishing buildings.

click here to download world map

Special texture pack
To enjoy the new HD version, you must use special texture pack with mcpatcher to render all the new blocks(Optifine has yet some bugs with cobweb ID 30:1 to 30:15 rendering so you would only see ID 30:0).

click here to download texture pack
After some months of hard work, this huge project is finished and you can now enjoy the entire building with the downloading version. The building itself isfaithful to the original. The gardens are just here to fit the environnement and give you a better tour experience.
Due to scale : 1 cube / 1 meter ... which give an area of about 310 x 720 x 250 (more or less 55.800.000 blocs) I have decided to distribute a world map rather than a schematic.

The texture pack used(included in zip file with the map)is the Dokucraft FyreUk creative pack.

That's my personnal work... (thanks to Kebapmanager for the help in reviewing)
but if you want to join an amazing team ... and meet really good guys, I invite you to join Creative Node by applying onwww.creative-node.com or if you prefer timelaps ... trywww.fyreuk.com
I am regular member on both (even if in fact i am french). You won't be desappointed if you join !

Additional Notes

You can use the downloads in your own server (I really enjoy if you PM your server adress). Thanks for credit, rating, subscribing and giving diamonds ! Don't be affraid to comment :)

I have started up a new server called the Catholic Realm (lumen.realms.bcsn.us) and would love to be able to display this awesome build there. I don't mind a large schematic. Could you provide a schematic? I was able to download the worldsave, but many of the blocks were missing, perhaps because of version difference.

In any case, Thanks! Diamonded!

This is by far the best version of St. Peter i have seen. Its amazing how the hole atmosphere of the real building is taken into this project so it seems like you could be really there. Well done :)

I do something about that : just open your brain...
The file "map_only_vatican.zip" is the St Peter Basilica worldmap! The basilica is the main building in the Vatican City (look at maps.google > vatican) one of the most famous buildings in the world.
and the file "st_peter_special_TP" is the texture pack that allows you to render all the blocks used.

So as everybody else you have all you need into the folder. ;)
Follow download link, try... and enjoy!

I am very grateful for your answer. Several months ago I downloaded your first version of your basilica and did enjoy it. But the "map_only_vatican.zip" looks different from other world saves and I can not find it in the menu after installing in my "C:Documents and SettingsVladoData aplikací.minecraftsaves". And anyway I do not want to bother you and waste your time but still do not know how to render all blocks in my game. I would appreciate if you still could help me, I am not that stupid.... please...

Don't worry my goal is you can enjoy my work.
So...

1 - deflat the map in a folder you will transfer in your minecraft/saves directory
2 - copy the textpack in your minecraft/texturepacks directory (don't deflat)
3 - launch your minecraft software
4 - choose St_peter texturepack
5 - single player / load world_vatican (it may take a certain time to launch, be patient, the texturepack is realy wide).
6 - Have fun

If you encounter troubles in rendering some blocks, verify "connected textures" is selected when you patch your minecraft version.

Thak you very much for your help, Vincal. I know I am terrible. Now it works perfectly, all blocks, beautiful basilique and the museums. I am too bothering if I ask you how to use beautiful wallpapers and candelssticks? Stupid question but how to use lovely wallpapers, pilasters and objects when the menu offers only "ordinary blocks" ? Thank you in advance. :) .....

If you want to use new blocks in your own maps, you must know their IDs wich use metadatas so you have ID:xx values (for example 30:01 and 30:2 for candelssticks).
You can install new-cntp.schematic somewhere in your map (about 100 * 100 on the ground and 40 blocks height) and look at correct values written on signs.
This schematic file can be installed using World Edit plugin (I have added this file in download link).
Then to use new blocks you must use WE commands like :
- //set ID:xx
- /repl ID:xx (to paint blocks using right click)

Thanks a lot for your advice which is too complicated for me.... :) Anyway I will enjoy your beautiful world. The problem was when I accidentally destroyed some candelsticks in your map I could not replace them with the new ones.... and the wallpapers are so beautiful....

Wow, i just gotta say... That is friggin' impressive!! I am wondering about one thing though... I see that the size for most part is 2:1. How did you calculate the dimensions? Did you just double the measurements that you did of the real building? I am working on a similar project as well, so I am kinda curious :). Also, awesome textures, hope you won't mind if I use some for my building.

Would be really nice, but I don't really want to begin all over again with my project right now. I am building the vatican city in 1:1 scale, and I think I will continue to do so. Thank's for you'r offer, though :D

Why wouldn't minecraft look real ? ... A mere nothing of imagination, a suspicion of technique, many sweat, and the dream becomes reality (thanks google for the translation... even if it is far to be perfect :) ... French I am, french I stay, but I love british civilisation)
