The Colonial Steward Class Corvette

The Steward Class refers to a whole group of medium-sized corvettes that use the standard Steward Class chassis and drive. There are many different variant-types within this class that modify the original design to include more/different weapons, sensors, and crew quarters to alter the function of the vessal.

Variants:

The most common (and cheapest) layout of the class is the Patrol variant. It includes two medium anti-fighter cannons, two medium, twin anti-fighter cannons, a light sensor suite, and spacious crew quarters for long patrol rotations.

The Escort and Anti-Fighter layouts are the next most popular variants. The former trades a spacious interior for more cramped quarters and an extra pair of anti-fighter medium cannons while the latter nearly scraps the crew quarters altogether for an additional eight light auto-cannons. These two variants are nearly always seen in escort roles, acting as fighter screeners for larger vessels.

The fourth most common layout is the Scout variant. It replaces the standard two twin anti-fighter cannons for a much larger sensor and communications suite and adds four light auto-cannons to defend it in sticky situations. This variant generally acts as a cost-effective, shorter ranged alternative to larger deep-space scout ships.

Note: While the variants listed above are by no means the only layouts in the market, they do represent the most popular variants available. Other variant types include troop transports, light freighters, assault ships, aerospace transports, light missile boats, and many more.
