Stiletto Sky Fighter

Back again!

Small build, mostly for kicks on the mithrintia server.

Presenting the third of my small vessels - the Stiletto class sky superiority fighter.

The Sorians manufacture these fighters in mass quantities meant to be carried aboard their new carrier-class ships (hint hint). The aptly named Stiletto fighter is a single pilot craft, meant for quick strikes and disabling the enemy.

The fighter is very fast, and extremely maneuverable thanks to four individually controlled aerilons, plus a elongated steering rudder mounted on the aft of the craft. It's high speed and movement make it very difficult to target, thus increasing it's effectiveness in battle.

For armaments, the Stiletto carries twin light air to air cannons mounted just beneath the cockpit. The stiletto's main feature, however, is the rotating chain gun located to the side of the mounted guns. The chain gun, when charged, can unleash a devastating barrage of fire that can decimate infantry, fortifications, or even enemy capital ships with ease. However, in order to hit stationary targets, the chain gun must be kept pointed at the enemy while firing. As such, it is best used as an extreme long range weapon, though for last ditch efforts it can be used effectively at point blank range.
