As a survival base in an SMP in 2020 I decided to rebuild the Plassenburg in Minecraft!
I liked the shape of the castle and thought it would be doable to approximate in the game.

The interior is fully improvised to suit my Minecraft needs, meaning many farms hidden inside the castle walls.
I tried to make each area functional and each door actually lead to a place so that most of the castle saw player interaction.

One side of the main plaza was temporarily used as an 'elytra-powered' post office for the rest of the server. As part of this, the front of the build (with all the windows), has rooms for the other players on the server.

The storage system is one of the only parts that is not within castle premises as it's actually built in the ground below.

Sadly several parts are still missing as the server had to shut down before the build was fully finished.

The terrain was not built by hand, the empty island was downloaded for the server to be built upon.
