The Telus Sky is a 222m, 60 story mixed-use office building in Downtown Calgary, Alberta, Designed by Bjarke Ingels Group. When completed, it will be the third tallest building in Calgary. It hosts the largest public art display in Calgary, with an array of thousands of LED lights. At sundown, the north and south facades of the tower, will showcase the installation, programmed by Douglas Coupland with full-colour motion sequences.
This project took lots of planning and many trials to finish. When I first saw the building, I thought how much it looked like something you would build in Minecraft, with its complex array of rectangular cantilevers, though quickly realized how hard it would be to replicate. I decided to give it a shot, and after many redesigns, I've finally come up with this.
It's 333 blocks tall, requiring it to be stitched together from 2 sections in a rendering program.
Special thanks to Ryer and Tiger for the renders.
