Covering a sprawling 25 acres (10 hectares) The Arunachaelshwarar Temple is an architectural treasure trove dating back to the 1st Century CE. The complex contains 9 Gopurams, 2 ponds, Thousand Pillared Hall, Hundred Pillared Hall, and many more, it is situated at the foothills of the Arunachala hill in the district of Thiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu. Although the temple's core is still unknown who built it, historical records exist of construction done by the Chola Dynasty, Vijayanagara Dynasty, Saluva Dynasty, and Tuluva Dynasty over the years.
