So I recently stumbled across the online urban legend/creepypasta 'The Backrooms', a seemingly endless maze of empty office space and hallways, with no one there besides you, which leaves you trapped there with an unsettling feeling of paranoia, the feeling that you're not actually alone. ('liminal space').
Although the Backrooms is fictional, I found it both interesting and unsettling, and decided it would be cool to build this complex on Minecraft.
I took floorplans from three existing Backrooms game maps I found online, and joined them all together with added hallways and rooms resulting in a huuuuge maze of liminal space.
There are two exits, but they're quite difficult to find.
This was built on Bedrock edition, in creative mode. all vanilla, no mods, no texture packs or world edit.
I've included a 20 minute no-cut video walkthrough and 20 pictures.
I also saw the 'McDonalds in the Backrooms' meme image going around online, and decided to add that into the map as a funny little easter egg, which is in a hidden secluded area only accessible via falling into a pitfall hole (I show all of this in the video).
*PLEASE READ* >> I've included the download file (Bedrock MC world file), but have to mention something about this map...
I built this map on one of my existing worlds, so if you get bored of the Backrooms, there's quite a bit of randomness to explore.. (like Springfield from The Simpsons, the International Space Station, a giant Charizard pixel art/hotel, Shrek's house, a replica of the 2006 Australia Big Brother house, some other random houses, a underground sewer with a TMNT easter egg, the WTC, a Pokemart and a Pokemon center, and that one 90s kids castle playset.
Thanks for looking/downloading!
"If you're not careful and you noclip out of reality in the wrong areas, you'll end up in the Backrooms, where it's nothing but the stink of old moist carpet, the madness of mono-yellow, the endless background noise of fluorescent lights at maximum hum-buzz, and approximately six hundred million square miles of randomly segmented empty rooms to be trapped in.
God save you if you hear something wandering around nearby, because it sure as hell has heard you…"

I've changed the entrance and exit to the pitfall room, i made it more accurate to the found footage tape. and there is also now an end portal if you fall down another pitfall. the pitfall entrance to McDonalds is still there also. Enjoy!
