Rova's back with another build for everyone!
After doing a sailmaking tutorial on Mithrintia I was invited to build a ship on their server. This is the result: A Yacht Class Vessel that I named the Blue Raven.
I worked with a new hull design which was inspired by both a build that my best friend did on Fleetweek, and ancient greek ships. I also upgraded the Draconic sail design for a smaller class vessel and experimented with a completely new command deck layout.
The Blue Raven itself is a Sorian Manufactured Personal Yacht that's most frequently used by the Arkellian Province Governers to travel across the Empire. The Yacht is 4 decks tall, including the missile deck, cannon and living deck, main deck, and command deck. As a personal pleasure craft, it's smaller than most other Arkellian vessels, but still large enough to require a full crew compliment of at least 5-10 people. Of course, not everything is peaceful in a Governer's life. To better help against enemies, the Sorians allowed room for up to 20 cannons, mounted both port and starboard, as well as 4 Air to Air/Air to Ground missiles. Many an unsuspecting pirate raider were caught unawares by the vessel's innocent pleasure yacht appearance, only to discover that their ship was being ripped apart beneath their feet. If the defenses should fail, a spellbook located on the command deck stands ready for a Sorian shieldmage to cast a protective barrier over the entire ship. In addition to sails, the Blue Raven has a propeller for added speed for those situations when haste is necessary.
