The Imperial Sabre started out as a simple transport vessel.
It was retrofitted with a serrated blade along it's keel during wartimes and was used to sneak up on and slice open enemy airships.

I started out with a very non-traditional hull design and then just kept adding on things like the metal frame extending around the entire hull, the propellers and the stabilizing fins on the sides, this ended up making the hull look very thin and fragile, so I tried out a lot and finally settled with the "blade" added to the bottom, which really fit well to the otherwise odd hull shape and added a lot of bulk to the look of the ship.
