Hi everyone! I just created my first adventure map and just wanted to post here to let people know about it.
Map Name: The Labs
Estimated Play-Time: From 3 to 5 hours depending on how much one explores
Summary: Basically, the storyline is that you are in a testing facility and need to complete chambers in order to move on in the facility by collecting the blaze rod in each chamber. The gameplay is only semi-linear. The player does not need to complete chambers in order, but can choose which chamber they wish to complete. However, some chambers are not accessible until the player has found a certain amount of blaze rods.
However, there is much more to the map than simply completing chambers. Easter eggs and hidden areas are scattered throughout the map. There are many references to other video games, so see if you can spot them all!
Also, completely all the chambers is only half of the adventure. I wono t ruin the surprise now, but Io ll just say that when you expect to have won, thereo s a lot more left!
I like to think of it as a cross between the Portal series (because of the chamber-style play) and Super Mario 64 (because of the overworld where you can pick which chamber you want to complete).
On a side-note, if anyone cares, no MC-Edit was used in the creation of this map. It was all done manually. Therefore, many hours of work went into this map.
Also, if you could visit my Youtube channel, Schemtopia, it would be great. The channel is what allows me to spend so much time working on Minecraft projects like this one. Also, a walkthrough for this adventure map will soon be up on the Schemtopia Youtube page.
End Notes: So, test out the map if youo d like and let me know how it goes!
Thanks for reading!
