((Note From The Creator: Alright, where to begin... Well this is my first posted work on Planet Minecraft since I joined three or so months ago. And besides the fact it was my very first "serious" Minecraft project, I'm actually quite proud of it. It took about a month of off and on work in Minecraft 1.7.3, and was done completely by hand with material assistance of InvEdit and later /Fly when I picked up Single Player Commands. And other then the addition of the "Water Shader" mod via my bro for picture taking purposes and later MCEdit to move to into a new more visually pleasing location, was without the direct assistance of any world editing software, heck I even built the entire thing semi-submerged originally. d:))

The Lorem Ipsum

o Ito s that dream we carry with us
That something wonderful will happen,
That it has to happen,
That time will open,
That the heart will open,
That doors will open,
That the mountains will open,
That wells will leap up,
That the dream will open,
That one morning weo ll slip in
To a harbor that weo ve never known.o

(Olav Hauge)

Frigate Ships and other similarly self-propelled sailing vessels like the Lorem Ipsum are part wood and part metal sea vessels of Sanian design and construction, and propelled by what is known as a Alchemical Engine.

A metallic engine-box of sorts is attached to two force-conveyors that are themselves mounted to the stern most portion of the ship. The conveyors themselves generate kinetic energy as the engine consumes a fuel-slurry of sorts (usually some combination of crushed coal and a more controlled burning tar mixture). The conveyors only generate energy in one direction, pushing the Frigate forward. They can be tilted and locked into place using a system of small pulleys and handles, thus turning the ship's rudder, redirecting the flow of propelled undersea gas, and allowing the Frigate to turn under it's own power, or to even reverse its movement. All of this is rather headache-inducing, but the ship's Captain doesn't have to deal with it. A series of mirrors (or directions from the crew members) helps the driver to steer the entire vessel from the back.

In case they run out of fuel and become stranded, to prevent death by starvation and sea madness, Frigates do as well have sails, though they more often then not dono t need them, and more then anything could largely be considered indistinguishable from other large Minecraftian ships because of it. Frigates also possess a few cannons, usually mounted along the ship's hulls and sometimes mounted atop the deck of the ship.

Frigates are more common and trusted than Airships, because they can travel the same tried and true routes as sailboats. The consumption of fuel in a frigate is also less than that of an Airship, while providing more reliable speeds than a sailboat, and shaving some time off trips regardless of fickle wind or other conditions. It is possible that frigates may someday obsolete sailboats entirely, but they have not yet done so.

((The Lorem Ipsum, or The Applejack in Latin (yep, if you couldn't already tell I'm a Brony :D) was originally intended to have been made into a "Ship of The Line" (double cannon decks and an overall massive size wise enhancement) type vessel, which after a lot of design testing and building I got lazy and just decided to defer to the next best thing (AKA a Carrack/"Frigate") with a Viking stylized ice breaker body and with a handful of shortened (classic) Chinese Treasure ship like sails.

So feel free to take a look! And tell me what you think about it! I'd honestly love hear some feedback about my design style.))

I honestly couldn't tell you. I was/kinda still am pretty inactive around here, at least on the forum and all that, so I don't really have anyone or a following to rely/say "hey check this out!" to. That and I'm still a pretty low level, so that doesn't exactly help much. :3

Yeah. Sadly no you cannot, unless you use F1 you really don't have any options when it comes to removing your HUD.
