The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, part of my Seven Wonders of the Minecraft World series

"I am Mausolus, King of Caria. I was tall handsome and victorious in war. I have over me in Halikarnassos a huge tomb adorned with fine marbles in the likeness of men and horses, such as the world has never seen before..."

been wanting to build this for awhile now, I think it came out pretty good. let me know what you think!

*contains an intact burial

Ok I love it and is very very good, but I dose not look like the reconstruction models of the building for example foundable on wikipedia.

I looked at all of those conjectural reconstruction models before I did this project and to be honest they looked pretty boring so I decided to redesign it in a later roman style since we don't know for absolute sure how it looked. I can easily build that model you referenced but I enjoy putting my own twist on the ancient forms, hope you dont mind too much. =)

I like what you have done (didn't give the diamond without a reason), and I know that the model is a bit boring because I have built on based on the model. So yes your Tower is a lot better, I just don't see how its a mausoleum - I mean where is the dead body supossed to be? It looks to me like a mix of a Victoria Columna, with herotic statue plus arcus triumphalis with dome.

there is literally a dead body in it I promise, its not a cenotaph =x

I guess I hid it too well if people dont realize its there =D

if you want me to build a second version based on the other model I will tho, it wouldn't take very long to throw together, its just a colonnade on a platform with a pitched roof. =)

You do not need to built another one based on the model for me; but thanks for the offer.
In my eyes a mausoleum is more like tomb - also without so much ligth - I guess that is my main reason for this talk here. Just built a new one if you think you need too.

Btw. Can you give hints for building statues? I love both - lion and horse with man. I always fail when I try to built good loking statues.

if its a tomb you are looking for try out one of my pyramids: https://www.planetminecraft.com/project/egyptian-stepped-pyramid-and-mastaba-building-pack-intact-tombs/

for statues, just start with a stick figure of what you want to build, then gradually encrust it with more blocks until you get the shape right, then add the details. they are tough to build tho, but the more of them you do, the easier it becomes. =)
